Bought on breeding terms she sadly had cataracts so that scuppered those plans. An honest working dog, she still ran in the 2003/4 Season with her brother & sister in Team Trot…an advancement on Team Nature Walk as this lot actually trotted all the way round, bless! Sadly when her sister Kay died suddenly one Christmas, both Me & Team Trot rather lost our enthusiasm for the races.
A playful girl she loved the youngsters, but she was always bottom of the pack. Her favourite occupation at home was having her head rubbed, which made her go rarrrrrrr, rarrrrr
She lived to be 16 years and 7 months, and though completely deaf, and very sleepy she coped really well. She still liked a walk, right at the front in a straight line as usual, although without any pulling in her later years. She tended to automatically collapse if any of the other dogs went near her, but she still turned up twice daily for her meals and still loved a fuss and head rub. Being deaf, she didn’t realise how noisey she could be sometimes, we think she sound like a sealion, Katie Keen thinks she was saying ‘help me’. She died naturally at the vets with us there – she was a great part of our lives to lose as she had been with us for so long.
