Alaskan Malamute Club Show
// May 23rd, 2004 // Showing
On Saturday I Stewarded for the AMCUK Open Show, celebrating the 40th year of the Club. The Judge was Shilon Bedford of the Black Ice Alaskan Malamute kennel in America. http://www.blackicedogsledding.com/ She is a lovely Lady, and she really enjoyed her day, attracting the highest entry they have ever had for the Club Show.
The entry was as ever varied and it was still surprising to see who was missing from the entry list. Temperament had its moments and I nearly got caught in the crossfire between male Mals a number of times….give me Sibes anyday. But I really liked the 4 principle winners and the sweet Best Puppy too.
Stud dog saw 4 ‘families’ filling the ring, quite amazing, only outdone by Brood which saw 7 Mothers and their kids….that really filled all the space available.
Sadly I couldn’t return on the Sunday when all day was given over to seminars by the Bedfords.
