Happy New Year

// January 3rd, 2011 // Comments Off // Van, Working

Well 2011 starts as no doubt the season will mean to continue, with the Rigrunners having van problems.  Admitedly this time a slight Keith hitch, but 3 days of hard training at Bracknell took place each morning – in the car!  We now have taking 9 dogs out down to a fine art, we have discovered that single leads work best and only tie 2 to any tree or post to stop over knotting of the leads.  You do learn that you actually don’t need most of the items you have in your van ‘just in case’ but a big thanks to Dave & Carolyn for the use of rigs, and also to all the others who kindly offered.

As Sherwood is hoped to be 5 miles for B & C, Keith took out, 6, 6 and then 5 – poor Juno said enough! and ran approx 5 miles each day.  The girls did well and on Monday Mark followed with his 2 girls.  Temps were about 5 on Sat and then 1Sun & Mon, the ground dried better each day and the others all got a lovely walk, Patsy excelling at pulling on the flexi.

Just need to get the van ‘fixed’ this week and try and get in a railway line blast before Sherwood

It’s New, Big & Beautiful

// July 10th, 2004 // Comments Off // Gossip, Van

Well the weekend started nicely with our new van arriving. The same as our old one, but with more whizzy bits, a parade of neighbours came to admire it & be shown around it’s empty interior. Great discussions also took place on the chat we all get to have with our local Police Lady on Monday!

Brit also had to be admired as she had killed a wasp and been stung in the process. I threw a piriton down her throat and checked her breathing was OK, but didn’t really know what else to do, it was her top lip on one side that very swollen and she seemed quite grumpy. It is now going down. I found the dead wasp next to where she usually sleeps.

Saturday saw a day at home, three girls washed for tommorrow and everyone walked. Unfortunately each walk timed perfectly with a rain storm so we all got wet. The Oldies went to the Moor again. No sign of the cows, probably they were lying down because of the rain. The cygnets have really grown. 7 of them swim in close formation, like a fleet of ships and 1 naughty one darts off to explore & is then brought back by a parent’s hiss. A dog from the boats broke his tether and came on the walk, he was kept at a distance by Bel & went happily off in the direction of home when I finally told him to go.

Cheered on Jenson Button in the GB Grand Prix qualifying…I hate single laps, I just want to fall asleep, I so hope he wins tomorrow.
